Web Technology
Usability Blog

Hello, and welcome to my blog! My name is Calum Hynes, I’m a 20 year old fourth year student majoring in Business Information Systems in Atlantic Techonological University. I am currently taking a module called web technology and for my Individual project, I am creating a webstite which has blog articles which gives an overview on usability and design of websites. I will focus on functions that make websites functional and are enjoyable to use as well as the importance of usability.

This blog covers key components of website usability: user interface (UI)user experience (UX)speed, and security. Each of these elements plays a vital role in creating websites that not only look good but also work efficiently and safely. Through these articles, I dive into how UI and UX influence user interactions, why site speed is essential for retaining visitors, and how security measures contribute to ensuring users have trust when using a website that you have created.

What sets this blog apart from others is that that I have got to apply my research throughout this blog. Through my speed, user experience, user interface and security research I’ve been able to help create a user friendly layout that will be enjoyable for every user that comes upon this site. I can now apply the skills I’ve learned when creating this website to others in the future.

The aim for this blog is for it to be a learning resource to its users where they can get an overview of topics which relate to usability based off the research that I have conducted. Users will also have the ability to see how I’ve applied it within my own website. I appreciate you taking the time to explore my blog!
